As part of the Office of Communications, you are at the center of those efforts. We are looking for a Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager who understands that social media isn’t just about platforms, algorithms and viral content, but about building connection and community. The right candidate will have an appreciation for the substance of content with an approach that shows, not tells, our impact, and inspires action or engagement. The ideal candidate will appreciate the advantage of a close, collaborative and committed community, as well as an abundance of opportunities to tell meaningful stories.

 

The Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager oversees the Law School’s daily activity and engagement on social media platforms and will help co-create a strategy for each platform based on audience and engagement goals set in collaboration with the Associate Dean. The role also reviews and reports on engagement metrics to ensure efforts are resonating for organic social media – and will gather information used to inform market insights, competitive analysis and understand brand health. The role partners with key leaders and faculty members, as well as team colleagues, to help grow individual social media presences, providing guidance, training, and strategic counsel.  In addition, the role will help co-create and implement digital marketing campaigns, including through paid social media and search, to achieve specific communications or marketing goals.

 

The Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager reports to the Associate Dean for Communications, Marketing and Events and works in collaboration with communications colleagues including a close-knit team of seasoned professionals in brand, media relations, writing, and multimedia. Every member of our team plays a key role. We believe in the work we do, and the people on our team. 

Work Performed

Execute a strategic social media strategy based on the Law School’s communications objectives and priorities, and update and revise as conditions change in partnership with the Associate Dean – this includes managing an editorial calendar for social media and collaborating with subject matter experts for different types of content

 

Collaborate to produce social media content that is meaningful, befitting of our brand and academic rigor, but is also interesting and engaging and encourages our community to amplify or take action – and manage channels so that content publishes on an agreed upon and regular cadence  

 

Foster social brand building throughout the Law School community, inspiring and tooling the community in best practices

 

Serve as a member of our dynamic editorial team to ensure we are producing and leveraging content with purpose and cross-functional coordination to support each team members’ efforts and ensure maximum amplification

 

Monitor social and web to flag concerns and provide market intelligence in key strategic areas for the school, as well as competitive analysis – and monitor metrics around organic social to ensure efforts are working as intended, as well as brand health

 

Provide strategic communications support to faculty, administration and the dean, advising on the effective use of social media, including with training and mentorship with other departments, centers and clinics

 

Partner on the development of organic social media and digital advertising standards, policies, and rules of engagement, and provide training and mentorship to ensure awareness and adherence by the Law School community and overall consistency of approach

 

Manage digital advertising campaigns to support communications and marketing goals, and track performance

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

5 to 7 years of experience using social media to develop and implement marketing, communications, or public relations strategies for a university, non-profit organization, or business

 

Experience developing paid social media and search advertising campaigns

 

Experience using analytical tools to monitor performance and engagement

 

Intellectual agility and curiosity and demonstrated interest in legal issues, the legal profession, or legal education

 

Ability to work effectively and supportively in a diverse and inclusive environment and value the unique perspective that each of our colleagues brings to the table

 

Commitment to the highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail

 

 

Required Qualifications at this Level

 

Education/Training:                Work requires the ability to perform creative writing and related activities such as conducting interviews and research, and copy editing normally acquired through attainment of a bachelor's degree in Journalism, English or a related discipline.

 

Experience:                             Work requires two years of directly related writing experience.
