Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Software Engineering Manager 3 IPT Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within the Global Surveillance Division. This position is located in Melbourne, FL.
This Software Engineering Manager 3 IPT Lead will report directly to the Global Surveillance Software Center Engineering Director functionally and the Capture Platform Engineering Director for their technical duties. The lead will be responsible for the software engineers across an entire program lifecycle. You will be responsible for Software Development in accordance with Sector Engineering procedures, plans staffing requirements and is the primary interface to the Software Directorate to ensure staffing needs are met. You will set operating objectives, ownership for the Software detail plan/execution and provide mentorship and guidance to the software staff and first line Section Managers based on program and engineering goals, objectives, and company policy.
The successful candidate will collaborate with other leads (SEIT, Avionics, Vehicle and SIT&E) in a team-oriented environment to achieve program goals. The Software Manager ensures that technical, cost, and schedule performance measures are being met with particular focus on Key Performance Parameters and Technical Performance Measures; ensures that software design and development approaches: comply with Sector processes, procedures and best design/architecture approaches and drives reuse of design concepts from across the Sector; and meets first time engineering quality and affordability objectives. Responsible for Design areas for Software following the NAVAIR SETR Process 4355.19E for scoring, material direction, with the CE, SEIT Lead and Customer Counterparts.

Also, the position is contingent upon ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Clearance, (can start with interim Top Secret)

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM related field / Computer Engineering or Software Engineering with 9 years’ experience.At least 9 years of software experience including Software Project Manager or Integrated Product Team Lead within software and the Aeronautics field.Experience in Leadership and management of a large team.Experience in all phases of the Software Development lifecycles.Experience in planning staffing requirements.At least 5 years of management experience such as Section Manager, Staffing Manager, Department Manger.Knowledge and familiar with all phases of the software development life cycle.In depth understanding of NGAS Engineering processes.Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret clearance (Interim TS required to start)Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the Engineering Design Process for SETR design events such as SRR, PDR, using IEEE, DoD or other standard.Advanced degree in STEM related field.Understand NGAS Sector Engineering processes and procedures.Experience as a Software Project Manager for teams greater than 50.Experience as a certified Agile Software Development Coach or product owner.Experience with Cybersafe, SSE integration through design process.Familiarity with Northrop Grumman Software Development processes, CMMI Level 3 or higher, AS9100, or DO-178.Experience in collaboration with other leads (SEIT, Avionics, Vehicle and Test) in a team-oriented environment to achieve program goals.Green or Black Belt Lean / Six Sigma training and experiences.Relevant experience from the Defense and/or Aeronautics industry.Active TS Clearance or Program Access• Ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.Excellent communication (written, oral, and presentation) and engagement skills.Salary Range: $161,500.00 - $242,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
