The Manager of Strategic Facility Planning is responsible for collaborating with customer strategy leaders on project conceptualization, prioritization, and development. This position will serve as the subject matter expert on strategic master facility plans and on ambulatory facility initiatives including facility planning, programming, and benchmarking. The Manager of Strategic Facility Planning must possess a strong understanding of healthcare operational models and real estate development principles. The primary work product of the Manager of Strategic Facility Planning will be project proposals that support capital requests made by the customer. Customers’ ability to obtain capital funding is an indicator of success. The Manager of Strategic Facility Planning will also maintain alignment with the mission and strategy of both Medxcel and the customer. This Manager will model all aspects of professionalism with an emphasis on communications and development of cost-effective projects. This position will report to the Director of Facilities Planning and will have at least one direct report. This position will Remote- Home Office. Responsibilities As designated by the Director, serves as point of contact customer leadership teams on planning of hospital and ambulatory projects. As requested by customers, identifies work scopes to be performed, assembles and leads internal and external resources and manages the work to successful conclusion. Work scopes can include Master Facility Plans, Clinical Service Line Studies, space programming and functional planning of all healthcare types. Communicates effectively with the customer leadership, Vice-President of Operations and Medxcel Directors. Coordinates communications and actions of Medxcel stakeholders in the delivery of planning work product and services to the customer: Directors and Managers of Strategic Planning, Design and Construction; Regional Directors of Facility Management, Regional Directors of Real Estate and Regional Directors of Construction. Manages data and processes to support annual needs such as Facility Capital Planning. Supports the RDFM by preparing annual updates to Facility Capital Plan requests. Undertakes additional assignments delegated by the Director of Facility Planning. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's in Architecture, Strategy, Economics, Real Estate or Business- required. Master’s in Architecture, Strategy, Economics, Real Estate or Business- preferred. Experience: 5 years of experience in planning and development of healthcare environments- required. 3 years experience in strategic resource planning, facility planning, or project development- required. 3 years experience of leading planning engagements involving customer executives and senior directors- required. 7-8 years’ experience in strategic resource planning, facility planning, or project development- preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive understanding of healthcare function. Has a working understanding of the fundamental principles of real estate development, including financial impact. Critical thinking—logical analysis and decision-making ability. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to bring high-stakes conversations to successful conclusions. Possesses and uses the elements of emotional intelligence: empathy, self-awareness, self-discipline, persuasion and motivation. Problem solving—identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
