Manager-Strategic Sourcing (Clinical) (Hybrid position)

Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager-Strategic Sourcing (Clinical). 

In this role, the successful candidate as the Manager is responsible for developing/enhancing contract and supplier management strategies to achieve target savings and cost avoidance for Capital Services spend at NYU Langone Health. The Manager is someone who will provide clear direction to drive accountability and results. Together with others key stakeholders, he/she will drive process initiatives that improve overall capital supply chain performance for the health system. The Manager will bring category expertise including but not limited to data-driven analysis for total cost value, expertise in RFP/Sourcing strategies, and knowledge of key players/marketplace to drive effective negotiation strategies on pricing and commercial terms. The Manager will report to the Associate Director, Clinical/Research Sourcing.

Job Responsibilities:

Relationship Building Manages requestor/end-user expectation to ensure sourcing strategies align with departmental goals and needs. Cost Savings Identifies, implements and quantifies strategic sourcing savings opportunities.  Business Process Optimization Partners with key stakeholders and guides Sourcing team in initiating process improvement projects that help streamline the capital acquisition workflow. Sourcing Strategies -Defines sourcing strategies that optimize value, considering requestor/end-user needs, market conditions, and health system alignment. Ensures the team achieves project timing, service and savings objectives.  Identifies the most beneficial means to access markets and drive the suppliers behavior accordingly. Market Evaluations – Interprets market and competitive intelligence through formal and informal processes. Advocates competitive decision-making in the most efficient, least resource-intense process and evaluates supplier capabilities to meet our needs through fair and thorough techniques. Analyzation Skills – Must possess problem solving skills and be capable of analyzing and interpreting data both financially and qualitatively to present and interpret outcomes. Must be able to use data to make recommendation to leadership. Supplier Relationship Management – Manages and enhances existing contracts with key suppliers through quarterly business reviews. Identifies and implements changes to help strengthen business partnerships. Contract Background – Experienced in contract review and drives contract negotiations with the support of Contract Management and Legal. Drive accountability – Instills a sense of urgency for supporting end users; takes proactive action to address any issues. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Minimum of five (5+) years strategic sourcing responsibilities and of which, two (2) years are associated with managing people.
High degree of proficiency in business applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) and ERP systems.
Knowledge of procurement/sourcing process.

Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a plus

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $117,107.95 – $154,131.63 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
