Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. **Manager Duties/Responsibilities:** + People leadership for a structural design team, to include performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning. + Provide project and technical oversight for activities performed by the group. + Provide ownership of, and direction to, the processes used by the group. + Provide proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers. + Support department initiatives, recruiting, technology roadmap creation, cross-company/sector involvement, and IRAD project leadership. + Communicate effectively with both team members and internal/external customers and stakeholders. + Uphold engineering principles of ethics and integrity, and Northrop Grumman values. **Technical Duties/Responsibilities:** + Designs, researches, and develops engineering specifications for metallic, non-metallic, and composite structures in all phases of the product life cycle from preliminary design to sustainment. + Design could include 2D and 3D model based engineering for detailed parts and assemblies. + Fundamental understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack analysis. + Design will be performed utilizing software packages such as NX and TeamCenter. + Excellent communication and people skills required to work with key stakeholders within other engineering disciplines, including but not limited to system engineering and structural analysis, for capturing all engineering requirements needed for the design and to achieve program objectives in a timely manner. + Critical thinking and personal organizational skills required to capture and complete a design that meets all engineering requirements. + Task planning, conducting technical peer reviews, and mentoring junior engineers. Qualifications – Internal/External **Basic Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering + Minimum 9 years of related Mechanical, Structural, or Design Engineering experience with a bachelor's degree; 7 years of experience with a related Master's degree. + Minimum 3 years of experience providing technical leadership of an engineering team. + Active DoD Secret security clearance, or higher. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Master of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. + 7+ years of structural design experience + 7+ years GD&T experience + 7+ years NX, TeamCenter and Fibersim experience + Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives. + Demonstrate strong leadership skills, effective communication, broad skillset spanning interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
