Manager - Supplier Quality Requisition ID: 41562 Job Location(s): Oragadam, IN **Job Description** Danfoss is looking for a Supplier Quality Manager, who will work closely with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams to develop, optimize, and enhance manufacturing processes. The goal is to implement best practices that prevent defects, reduce variation, and eliminate waste within the supply chain. The role will involve supporting procurement teams in improving supplier performance for production parts, branded, and traded products. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of manufacturing processes and will play a key role in elevating overall quality standards. **Job Responsibilities** Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following. • Develop quality mindset at suppliers to successfully develop their performance and meet Danfoss requirements • Manage and deliver supplier quality KPIs, e.g.: OPM, PPM, PPAP execution • Supervise implementation of changes requested from suppliers or Danfoss internal teams aimed at components quality improvement, cost reduction and availability improvement • Ownership of PPAP process for all changed components to secure smooth ramp up after design or process change • Drive suppliers’ nonconformities problem solving process to ensure timely containment and root causes elimination, master SQE team in 8D process • Process waiver requests to secure availability of components by identification of technical risks, eliminating or mitigating it to acceptable levels • Plan supplier audits and execute it with SQE auditors’ team • Identify key competences for team members, assess competence gaps and plan trainings to reduce the gaps • Support Supply Chain in daily operations by responding to requests and providing resources to realize needed actions to achieve quality, productivity, and availability goals • Manage team of SQEs responsible for daily support of supply chain operations, quality improvement projects, new product development, cost down activities • Track process capability for special characteristics at suppliers. • Identify and manage critical sub-tier suppliers based on risk assessments. • Develop and implement quality improvement plans for underperforming suppliers. • Work towards eliminating Incoming Quality Control (IQC) activities at Danfoss. • Escalate unresolved supplier quality issues for higher-level resolution. • Provide training to suppliers on Danfoss quality standards and requirements. • Lead Gemba Walks at supplier facilities to drive process improvement initiatives. • Collaborate with R&D on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to support New Product Development. • Facilitate Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) with suppliers for new projects. • Evaluate and address supplier change requests through risk assessments. • Deploy Lessons Learned Case studies to relevant suppliers for continuous improvement. **Background & Skills** • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/relevant degree • 10+ years of working experience as a Supplier Quality Function in which 3+years experience of managing teams. • Knowledge on Investment Casting, Hot forging, sheet metal & Metal treatment process • ISO 9001 or IATF experienced internal auditor (preferred lead auditor) and knowledge of core tools like PPAP, MSA, SPC, APQP, PFMEA etc. • Effective & Efficient Global & Local Stakeholder Management • Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent project management skills **Danfoss – Engineering Tomorrow** At Danfoss, we are engineering solutions that allow the world to use resources in smarter ways - driving the sustainable transformation of tomorrow.
