The Opportunity

The Supply Chain & Logistics Manager is responsible for managing and enhancing supply planning operations at the Diabetes Care third party manufacturer (TPM) location in Buffalo Grove, IL to support Division requirements. This role is a key conduit to ensure Abbott’s supply chain needs are appropriately translated and supported at a TPM.  This includes ensuring systems and reports are suitably scalable for future growth potential.  The role involves participating in the monthly integrated business process (IBP) and driving ongoing continuous improvement activities within supply chain operations at Abbott and at the TPM.

The supply chain manager plays a key role in delivering millions of FreeStyle Libre sensor kits per year while achieving high levels of customer satisfaction and supporting cost reduction activities.

What You'll Work On

Support Diabetes Care division and TPM for master scheduling and replenishment planning activities for FreeStyle Libre sensor kits. Serve as primary supply chain “voice of the customer” for the TPM.  Lead a team of supply chain analysts to support base business and plan for new product introduction impact.Analyze complex processes and determine improvement opportunities to reduce complexity to optimize cost, service levels and compliance. Ensure strong data integrity.Support TPM to develop and maintain supply planning reports to generate master planning schedule, replenishment plans, project inventory, measure manufacturing / replenishment adherence, monitor back orders, and various other supply chain planning KPI’s.Develop and communicate KPI’s to upper management.Partner with divisional logistics and supply planning teams to ensure appropriate TPM support.Analyze root causes of supply change requests, E&O and back orders.Ensure inventory is transferred between worldwide manufacturing and distribution locations.Prepare and present product review slides at monthly S&OP meeting to upper levels of management.Initiate and lead cross functional project teams that support business initiatives to improve efficiencies and reduce costs. Strong project management skills to gain consensus and implement improvements.Interface continuously with ADC global supply planning, global sourcing, order management and inventory control, business intelligence, IT, logistics, NPI, engineering, finance, and quality teams.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science or Art degree, plus 5 years related experience.5 years related experience in a supply chain or operations preferred.Experience in one or more of the following areas: order management, order fulfillment, logistics, customer service, master scheduling, inventory planning, inventory control, manufacturing, supplier quality, regulatory affairs, or engineering.Requires excellent analytical and communication skills.Proactive energetic attitude and ability to react quickly to the changing demands and priorities of the business.Proven ability to collaborate with numerous functions, build consensus across functional, business units, and geographic boundaries.Must be skilled user of Microsoft Excel.

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
