The Transplant Business Manager, with guidance of direct leader, is responsible for the management of the business functions within the transplant programs. The manager will have a pivotal role in creating the budget, monitoring and improving the daily business activities to achieve budget targets, build processes and KPIs based on program financial and operational measures such as the efficiency of staff and the consumption of hospital resources in its service to patients. The incumbent leads efforts in transplant programs to ensure data integrity and identifying system or process improvements to promote better management of revenue cycle operations, staff productivity and financial performance to budget.
This role supports Transplant Program leadership as well in the supervision and support of the Transplant Financial Assistance Coordinators. This manager reviews and approves case rate payments and expenditures as incurred and works with the Revenue Cycle management team to ensure that the transplant cases are properly billed according to contract. The incumbent oversees appropriate billing, revenue and expenditure documentation and contract management applicable to legal standards related to the transplant portion of the cost report.
Recruit, orient, train, supervise and evaluate transplant business operations staff members to ensure solid financial processes, good business performance and achievement of fiscal expectations for transplant programs.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with external organizations and agencies relating to industry trends, legislative issues, and accreditation, regulatory, and financial standards.
Develop, implement and monitor the financial aspects and documentation requirements of the transplant programs. Develop and implement an annual operating budget for and monitors financial performance of each program.
Develop, review, and revise financial policies and procedures of the transplant programs to support SLHS mission, vision and strategic direction.
Develop, implement and maintain transplant financial database systems that are agile and relevant to management of transplant programs.
Collaborate with transplant leadership and physicians in strategic planning, customer service strategies and fiscal management.
Monitors acquisition billing and ensures charges are appropriately dropped and tracked.
Works with Finance to submit data required for the Medicare Cost Report and ensures compliance with Cost Report regulations, including monitoring time studies.
Manages applicable funds ensures appropriate documentation for disbursement.
Coordinates with Financial Analyst to ensure day-to-day financial tasks are completed (i.e. processing invoices, invoicing, creating and monitoring POs, etc.).
