Manager Trauma Program
Development, implementation and evaluation of systems and programs directed toward the provision of quality services for trauma and Emergency Department patients from a multi-disciplinary perspective throughout the continuum of care. Works in close collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director. Assesses and evaluates the quality of work performed against the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACSCOT) standards. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates an education and training curriculum for trauma and Emergency Department clinical and non-clinical staff. Supervises and directs emergency nursing staff including enforcing hospital policy, providing educational support, and assisting in the completion of performance appraisals. Assumes responsibility for orientation of new hire nursing employees. Participates in the development, education and maintenance of trauma performance improvement programs.
Essential Functions Coordinates with physicians, nurses and other hospital staff to evaluate and address specific concerns related to trauma and emergency nursing patient careParticipates in planning, implementing, evaluating and developing policies, procedures, quality improvement activities and safety standards related to trauma and emergency nursing patient careDevelops, coordinates and implements orientation, nursing education and in-service programs related to trauma and emergency nursing patient care


Required:• BSN• Licensed by State of Michigan• Minimum of 5 years emergency experience with 2 years experience in a trauma center environment• Minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership role• BLS and ACLS certifications • ACLS Instructor within 6 months of hire• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum)• TNCC Instructor within 6 months of hire• ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification)• ENPC Instructor within 12 months of hire• CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) within 6 months of hire
Preferred:  • Knowledge of computer based programming and statistical analysis• CEN certification• ACLS, TNNC and ENPC Instructor certifications
