Manager - Valuation Control

The role consists in providing oversight and guidance to the team when it comes to the daily Profit Loss (PL) production and various reconciliations for the asset class mentioned in the Job Title. The role requires a person with strong knowledge of how Global Market products work, risk-based attribution and understanding of existing processes/systems used for calculation of the valuations and reporting requirements. Those skills are needed to help the team in troubleshooting daily issues, identify errors and their sources before reporting PL and help on understanding main drivers of PL movements

As our Manager - Valuation Control you will:

Review and oversight Framework across the GFX and Equities Core Product Control team providing effective support for local and our extended teams at different locationsWork with the Front Office and manage Stakeholder queries in new initiatives, different projects, and continuous enhancements, aiming a robust control environment. Also participate in internal and external Audit agendas. Manage the relationship with Front Office clients at all levels including the Head of the businessParticipate proactively in the implementation of the Core PC model, helping the integration of PnL and GL tasks under the same process owners, making sure the control environment is maintained or strengthened, and the resulting processes are properly documentedRepresenting Core Product Control in the various control and governance meetings, internal and external Audit, and Regulators etc.Understand the trade strategies and hedge, ensure proper explanation of the PL, and comment on drivers, both market and strategicEngage Front Office and various support functions to make the process better and achieve efficiency in daily tasks. Meet existing and growing regulatory requirements - specific focus on project or Ad-hoc reports delivery.
Drive Product Control Risk Control Committee and team meetings to ensure proper communication top down and bottom-upEnsure all the controls are working as expected and assessed for efficiency and applicability at reasonable intervals. Ensure any inherent operational risk is highlighted and mitigated in a timely manner

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $160,000.00 and $200,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

5 to 8 Years’ experience in product control/valuation control environment including the understanding of risk-based Greeks (delta, gamma, Vega, etc.)Applicant should demonstrate good communication, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to multitask and a commitment to quality customer serviceExcel, ideally at Macro/VB level and knowledge of the following systems: PC Portal, PC Portal 2.0, FTP, Qlik, Pegasus, Summit, Impact, Global Calypso, River, and Bloomberg.
