Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

About the Role:

Lead and manage ESIA projects, ensuring compliance with local, EU, and international regulations (e.g., IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, World Bank EHS Guidelines).

Provide strategic environmental and social advisory services to clients across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, manufacturing.

Engage with clients to identify project requirements and develop tailored environmental and social solutions.

Coordinate and supervise multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to deadlines.

Conduct stakeholder engagement activities, including consultations with local communities and government agencies.

Oversee environmental and social due diligence (ESDD) assessments for investment and development projects.

Support the preparation of proposals and contribute to business development efforts to expand ERM’s ESIA services in Romania and Eastern Europe.

Mentor and develop junior consultants, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and professional growth within the team.

About you:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Social Sciences, Sustainability, or a related field.

Minimum 7 years of experience in ESIA, environmental permitting, or related environmental and social consultancy work.

Strong understanding of national Romanian environmental regulations and international best practices (IFC, EBRD, Equator Principles).

Experience in managing complex projects, coordinating diverse teams, and delivering high-quality reports.

Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and communities.

Business development experience, including proposal writing and client relationship management.

Fluency in English and Romanian (both written and spoken) is required. Additional languages are an advantage.
