What You Will Do:

Managing Consultants are responsible for managing projects from cultivation to completion in a fast-paced environment.  In this role, you will manage the activities of the designated project team and support the day-to-day management of the client relationship.  You are expected to effectively develop and manage project execution and planning, staffing, deadlines and budgets and are expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  Work products are expected to be high-quality and client-ready. 

In this visible role, you will lead team meetings and guide, manage, and coach Consultants and Senior Consultants, providing constructive feedback on their project participation and overall career development.  Managing Consultants work closely with Associate Directors, Directors, and Partners to keep them abreast of project progress and important developments as well as to integrate guidance and engagement recommendations.  Managing Consultants take part in sales initiatives and Practice Development.

As an actuarial consultant focusing on Medicaid programs, you will ensure quality deliverables are created and validated in the following areas:

Capitation rate development,Valuation of Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) Estimates,Risk adjustment calculations of premium,Analysis of MLR and other financial reports,Development of budget projections,Creating data dashboarding to analyze emerging trends,Providing support to State Medicaid programs with legislative requests, andOther actuarial modeling as needed

What You Will Need:

Completion of at least four actuarial exams, with intent and ability to progress to ASA or FSA.Bachelor’s degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Insurance, Mathematics, Risk Management, Statistics, or similar.At least have 5 years of work experience including the following:Analysis and summarization of data using spreadsheetsKnowledge of actuarial and statistical modeling techniquesProven ability to handle multiple projects and tasksProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint)Occasional ability to travel.

Problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and the ability to model from a blank sheet of paper rather than models previously developedStrong written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of risk adjustment methodologiesIntellectual curiosity and ability to draw complex conclusions from dataASA or FSA designation

The annual salary range for this position is $109,100.00-$163,700.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
