Division Summary:
The Integrated All-Domain Effects (IADE) Division within the Air and Space Forces Center (A&SFC), manages a work program interconnected across MITRE’s National Security Sector (MNS). The work program is focused on enabling power projection against peer competitors in the highly contested environment. This requires developing exquisite Department of the Air Force (DAF) capabilities, as well as integration with the Joint Force. Many of the capabilities being developed and integrated require partnerships between the DAF, other services, and the Intelligence Community (IC).
IADE’s DAF sponsors span a collection of AF PEOs, Air Staff, DAF IC contributions, and research organization (AFRL). The division strives to deliver world class technical expertise and capabilities in support of a set of the most challenging national security objectives. Technology areas include, but not limited to: Electronic Warfare, Cyber, PNT, Command and Control, Communications Systems, Space Systems, Sensors and Sensemaking, and Data Architectures, and Analytics.
Job Description:
The Managing Director is responsible for strategically shaping the work program, setting the technical direction of the A&SFC’s IADE Division’s capabilities, growing a diverse team of world-class talent, fostering a culture of connection and belonging, and building collaborative relationships across MITRE’s enterprise, with Senior DAF Leaders, industry, and academia.
This is a key position in the development and execution a portion of the broader A&SFC strategy that is aligned to the MITRE National Security (MNS) sector strategy all in support of The MITRE Corporation’s strategy. Success in this position will require strategic thinking, creative work shaping and close coordination across the MNS and MITRE Labs to maximize impact.
The Managing Director is accountable to the Vice President, A&SF Center, for all aspects of the sponsor facing and internal division operations. The Managing Director will also work with the MNS Cross Cutting Priority Leads to ensure alignment of the IADE’s work program where appropriate with efforts across the company in these areas to increase impact.
Roles & Responsibilities:
+ Developing and implementing a mission focused vision that enables the IADE Division to increase the impact of the work program in solving critical DAF (and broader DoD/IC) challenges
+ Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with Senior DAF Leaders to demonstrate commitment to their mission and ability to respond to their most challenging needs
+ Collaborating and partnering with the other A&SFC Managing Directors in the development of the A&SF Center strategy and shaping the work in support of the MNS priorities and other DoD sponsors
+ Collaborating and partnering with the Innovation Centers in development of the IADE Work Program and to ensure they provide the highest quality skillsets and capabilities to meet the needs of the division
+ Leading organization to ensure technical quality, technical impact, and FFRDC appropriateness work program
+ Leading, managing and developing a workforce of over 120 staff creating strategies for growth, advancement, training, and an effective work environment to ensure a satisfying career for each staff member
+ Communicating clear expectations and goals that ensure all staff understand their contributions to key DAF outcomes
Basic Qualifications:
+ Requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM domain; or 12 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 10 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
+ A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience leading people and teams.
+ Leadership experience at the senior staff level with a proven track record of sponsor focus and strong employee engagement.
+ Demonstrated ability to establish trusted advisor relationships with senior Government leaders.
+ Strong technical background in one or more of the following areas: software engineering, automation, space systems, military and commercial communications systems, advanced sensor technologies, modeling and simulation, complex systems engineering, digital engineering, electronic warfare.
+ Demonstrated ability to build and shape a technical work program through collaborative and effective partnership with other divisions, and MITRE Labs
+ Enterprise or systems engineering experience, especially owning the technical baseline and model-based systems engineering.
+ Knowledge of systems integration and its complexities
+ Active TS/SCI
+ This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in creating and nurturing a virtual team of geographically dispersed subject matter experts who support different senior stakeholders on various elements of a critical enterprise that is successful only if the various, disparate pieces work together.
+ Previous work within dynamic environments that fosters innovation in areas that provide leap-ahead capabilities to sponsors that result in significant operational benefit.
+ MS or equivalent and 15 or more years of experience in relevant domain.
+ Active TS/SCI, SAP

Salary compensation range and midpoint:
$225,000 - $281,000 - $337,000 Annual
