Key Responsibilities:The Managing Director – Component Maintenance Management is responsible for the oversight of rotable and repairable parts and their maintenance, which is performed by both external suppliers across the globe and our in-house maintenance facilities in Houston and San Fransisco. This role provides leadership oversight for all functions associated with Component maintenance, repair, and overhaul, in house parts manufacturing and all Tech Ops warranty, remedies and incentives. This leader develops our supplier strategy and leads the development of a robust supplier management and supplier readiness program, to ensure best-in-class operational performance to meet short-term to long-term United’s demand. This leader is also responsible for all aspects of the operation including union relationship at the in-house San Francisco and Houston Component Overhaul and Repair facilities. This individual is tasked with ensuring the highest levels of safety, operational performance and regulatory compliance while maintaining a strong focus on product and process improvement, cost control, productivity, and team building. This is a global role that requires interacting and partnering with top aviation suppliers and OEMs from across the globe.
Manage rotable and repairable assets at the executive level, inclusive of the creation and implementation of removal plans, shop production plans, and spare asset induction/exit plans that maximize product yield for the airline at the lowest cost while ensuring a quality productDirectly manage supplier relationships at the executive level, inclusive of contract compliance, supplier operational performance, part warranties and supplier readiness strategiesLead the development of supplier strategy to ensure United is selecting and working with suppliers that are capable and flexible to meet United’s growing needs Establishes in house shop policies and procedures to meet all regulatory, technical, division and customer requirements/regulations and ensures the safety of all personnelDevelop and lead the implementation of strategies to develop automation, analytic, and data visualization tools to improve efficiency and dependability of the various teams Partner with procurement to help in contractual development to ensure purchase and component repair contracts meet United’s operational and financial goals and standardsWork with finance team to develop annual budget and then manage the budget monthlyUnited values diverse experiences, perspectives, and we encourage everyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply.
