PURPOSE/MAIN JOB FUNCTION

The purpose of this role is:

To develop, plan, direct and control the business strategy of the Company so as to ensure that the Company achieves its objectives. To develop and execute strategic policies and objectives in accordance with the overall mission of the Company and local legislation.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To prepare an annual business plan for all sectors of the business and to monitor progress against plan in order to ensure that the Company attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible. To ensure that budget targets are met, that revenue flows are maximised and that fixed costs are minimised. To oversee the preparation of the Annual Report & Accounts of the Company and ensure their approval by the Board. To provide strategic advice and guidance to the parent so as to keep them aware of developments within the industry and to ensure that the appropriate policies are developed to meet the Company’s objectives whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory and other regulations. To direct and control the work and resources of the Company and ensure the recruitment and retention of the required levels of motivated, trained and developed staff to ensure that it achieves its mission and objectives including the development and implementation of employment practices and procedures in accordance with current employment, health and safety and other relevant statutory legislation. To establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with major customers, relevant government departments and agencies, key decision-makers and other stakeholders generally, so as to ensure that the Company is providing the appropriate range and quality of services. To maintain the company brand at the forefront of the industry so as to ensure it continues to provide leading-edge products and services and retains its competitive edge. To ensure that the Company achieves the most effective contract terms through effective negotiations with customers, suppliers and other key contacts including finance providers. To ensure that the best possible products and services are provided to customers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

A graduate preferably in a technical or financial or related discipline. A proven record of success at a senior management level in a multi disciplined service-oriented organisation (preferably in a related industry sector) with extensive senior level experience of management of people and resources. Someone with a suitable network in the industry. An understanding of financial management and wider management principles and techniques. A very high level of commercial awareness.
