Managing Director – Total Retirement Solutions (Large Market-Remote)
What You'll Do We are looking for a Managing Director for our Total Retirement Solutions, Customer Care area, to cultivate strong relationships with advisors, plan sponsors, and third-party administrators within our $200M+ market space. In this strategic role, you will work closely with internal teams to ensure that top-tier expertise is in place, delivering innovative solutions that support key business objectives such as retention, growth, and retirement readiness for our large, sophisticated TRS clients. Your leadership will be essential in driving Principal’s growth goals and ensuring outstanding client experiences across all business units. Here are a few of the things you'll do: Work closely with plan sponsors and advisors to improve and enhance plans, with a focus on investments, retirement readiness, services and new opportunities. Apply your expertise in products, industry trends, and investments to differentiate Principal, address complex issues, and strengthen client relationships while minimizing any risks. Drive collaboration and teamwork across multiple internal teams and business units, influencing efforts to achieve strategic objectives, without formal reporting relationships. Partner with executive sponsors and leadership teams to capitalize on opportunities and address client risks and concerns, ensuring alignment and clarity. Who You Are Bachelor's degree or 8 years of equivalent experience required; MA/MBA preferred but not required 15+ years managing complex client relationships with multiple retirement product solutions (DC, DB, NQ, ESOP, Equity Comp, Trust & Custody, etc.) Must become an associated person of Principal Securities, Inc Proven track record of implementing client strategies that resulted in improved outcomes for the client and the organization Excellent demonstrated leadership, negotiation, presentation, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills required, as well as outstanding interpersonal, analytical, and oral and written communication skills Experience in working with large and complex clients and have a compelling executive presence Travel required (40-50%), including overnight stays Licensing will be required based on state/federal laws and/or company policy in accordance with current licensing policy. The below licenses are required at time of employment: Successful Registration as an Investment Company Products/Variable contracts Limited Representative (FINRA Series 6 or equivalent and FINRA Series 63) Resident Life and Health appointment Salary Range Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $153000 - $207000 / year Time Off Program Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension Eligible Yes Additional Information Location This is a remote position.
