If you share our passion for creating an airline people love, we want to hear from you. **Role Summary** The Managing Director SCM Operations leads the development and implementation of long-term procurement strategy, primarily overseeing M&E, Flight Ops, Cargo & Inflight purchasing for Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and Horizon Air. As a people leader, the Managing Director develops strategic initiatives to support supply chain performance, including procurement systems, processes, and infrastructure. This role reports to the Vice President, Strategic Sourcing and SCM, with accountability for financial, service and quality metrics over direct spend. **Key Duties** + Oversees indirect procurement and strategic sourcing work for Alaska Air Group. This role supports source able spend of $2 billion. + Establishes strategic goals and direction for indirect procurement and strategic sourcing teams. + Influences and develops long-term supply chain strategy that meets company objectives and initiatives. + Key stakeholder and leader for all sourcing projects for the following internal business groups: M&E, Flight Ops, Cargo & Inflight + Oversees sourcing exercises for direct spend across the organization. + Builds strong partnerships with enterprise leaders and other key internal stakeholders. + Develops people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on fostering strategic thinking, development of talent, and succession planning across teams and functions. + Optimizes processes to ensure delivery of supplies and improve supply chain metrics in terms of cost and service. + Minimizes company risk and maintains compliance in areas of environment, health and safety (EH&S). + Business advisor and negotiator for all contract disputes, working closely with Legal. + Influences company culture through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors. + Manages vendor dispute resolution processes and commercial claims. + Approves and manages budget for indirect procurement and strategic sourcing. **Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills** **Required** + 10 years of experience in negotiating and securing contracts in a corporate setting. + 5 years of people leadership experience. + Bachelor’s Degree, or willingness to attain a Bachelor’s degree within six years of start date. + Deep experience with a strategic sourcing process including Request for Proposal (RFP) writing and management. + Proficient in presentation skills, including oral and written communication. + Experience with financial analysis of complex vendor proposals. + Builds long-term strategic supplier relationships. + Excels in leading teams, facilitating meetings, and developing and providing presentations. + Demonstrated executive presence and diplomacy as well as optimism, passion, professionalism, integrity and confidence. + Proficient in MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). + High school diploma or equivalent + Minimum age of 18 + Must be authorized to work in the US **Preferred** + Advanced degree or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification. **Job-Specific Leadership Expectations** + Builds a high-performance culture that respects both speed of execution and quality of work. + Embody our values to own safety, do the right thing, be kind-hearted, deliver performance, and be remarkable. + Inspirational leader who will promote the Alaska Airlines values and act with a high sense of urgency and unquestionable integrity. + Skilled at making and defending tough decisions, while demonstrating care and concern for the opinions of others, both inside and outside the organization. **Salary Range** $188,650 - $311,350 / year **Total Target Compensation Range (incl. bonus & equity)** $311,273 - $513,727 **Salary Details** The pay range and total target compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, your relevant experience/level, experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees.
