ZDNET is seeking a full-time Managing Editor on the News & Features team. This editor will work with a team of writers, editors, and freelancers to create news stories, feature articles, tips, howtos, explainers, and commentary. The role requires a person with attention to detail, proven ability to manage multiple workstreams, a genuine curiosity about technology, and a high emotional IQ.
What You’ll DoOversee the creation and maintenance of well-optimized news contentWork with freelancers and full-time staffers contributing to news and features; this includes onboarding new hires, as well as coaching, training, and mentoringCollaborate and communicate with other editorial leads and with key colleagues across other departments, including SEO and ProductEdit content for style, tone, and flow; correct grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors; conform content to in-house styleWrite great headlines and descriptions, and select compelling images to represent storiesUse analytics and other tools to track and optimize story performance; report on weekly progress toward goals and targetsProject manage feature packages and collaborate with the Integrated Marketing team on the packaging and launch of various features

Salary Disclosure: Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The base pay for this position ranges from $100,000 to $110,000, plus incentive compensation (for eligible roles only), 401K with company match, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short and long-term disability, and a flexible time off policy.
