Manual Firmware Test Engineer - Alpharetta, GA - Onsite We are seeking a Manual Firmware Test Engineer to support our device hardware and firmware teams working on smart energy metering technology! This role requires candidates to be onsite 5 days/week in Alpharetta, GA. The role involves primarily manual testing (80%) with some opportunities for automated testing. The work environment focuses on ensuring data flows correctly, is sent on time, and is in the right format, particularly in the context of a Mesh network involving gas meters, water meters, and other devices. Job Responsibilities: + Provide support for device hardware and firmware. + Assist manufacturing teams in resolving quality issues and stop-ship scenarios. + Represent support in CAPA (Corrective Action, Preventative Action) meetings. + Conduct in-depth root cause analysis of customer issues, documenting reasons for failures and resolutions. + Collaborate with Product Management, Core Engineering, and other internal teams to drive quality improvements. + Support and adhere to the company's Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy. + Perform other duties as assigned or required. Skills & Qualifications: + Experience in embedded Linux testing user/kernel space. + Experience in testing wireless communication such as RF, WiFi, or Bluetooth. + Experience in testing networking protocols such as IPv6, IPv4, ICMP, DHCPv6, TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet, PPP, and layer-2 (switching) or layer-3 (routing) protocols. + Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Bash. + Ability to work independently with minimal guidance. + Strong team-player with ownership mentality.
