Manual Machinist (2nd Shift)

If you are a Machinist looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you based in Pasadena, TX!
You will be responsible for fabricating Fisher OEM control valve parts using a variety of machining techniques and equipment. You will also repair parts from the field, returning them to OEM specifications. You must be familiar with manual and CNC lathe and mill operations.  Safety and Quality of work are key components to this position.

This role is 2nd Shift- Monday- Friday 2:30 PM- 11:00 PM

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Be responsible for personal safety and for the safety of others. Must maintain excellent housekeeping standards. Set-up, indicate, and machine raw material (bar stock, forgings, and castings) to manufacture Fisher parts to OEM print dimensions. Develop and edit CNC programs using G-code and other programming languages. Verify program accuracy and troubleshoot any programming issues. Cross-train on all machines to prevent lapse in production flow including but not limited to engine lathes, manual drills, horizontal bandsaws, CNC lathes, VTLs, HBMs, and CNC mills. Must understand material hardness, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant requirements and machining techniques.  Interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) per part drawings.  Potential for field assignments using in-line machine. Some travel may be required.  Adherence to all safety, quality, and environmental rules and regulations.

For This Role, You Will Need:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education is a plus. Proven experience as a Machinist  Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Ability to use precision measuring instruments. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer relations skills are a must. Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Mechanical related Associates degree or 5+ years of experience with machining and fabricating. Working knowledge of CAD/CAM (MasterCam)  & SolidWorks’ modeling is preferred Welding knowledge preferred. Experience in the process control industry is a plus. Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process related problems is strongly preferred.
