**Job Title: Manual Machinist** **Job Description** The Manual Machinist will perform hands-on machining operations and support maintenance, troubleshooting, assessment, and repair work on valves (Block Valves, PSV/SRV, and/or pneumatic and electric actuators) based on skill level. **Responsibilities** + Perform machining and other support operations on individual components of valves, pumps, and other industrial equipment utilizing various manual machines. + Execute hands-on shop work, maintenance, testing (pre/post), and/or repair of valves and actuators. + Conduct hands-on workshop inspection, reporting, cleaning, and reassembly of valves and actuators. + Machine materials and/or parts using various machining equipment. + Read and interpret schematics for assembly, repair, and reassembly as required. + Perform failure assessments and make recommendations to the on-site supervisor as required. + Conduct day-to-day and routine safety observations and inspections. **Essential Skills** + 3+ years of experience in manual machining. + Proficiency in operating manual lathe, mill, and VTL. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. + Experience with drill press and horizontal boring. + Capability to maintain plus or minus 1 inch of tolerance. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience working with valves or within the oil/gas industry is a plus. + Prototrak lathe experience is a plus. + Must be a team player and open to other job duties outside of machining when necessary. + Must be willing to work overtime as needed, sometimes up to 50-60 hours per week depending on customer workload. **Why Work Here?** We offer consistent hours and competitive compensation. It is loud and dirty, and candidates need to be comfortable with this. The machine shop and welding areas currently have 10-12 people. The shift is Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with the possibility of overtime. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Benicia, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
