Onin Staffing is currently seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join a prestigious company based in Oswego, IL. The role involves carrying out a diverse range of machining tasks, including the creation of intricate, high-precision components utilized in the repair of industrial equipment. Work Experience
Key Responsibilities:
Machine complex high-precision parts for equipment repairs.Calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers or gauges.Machine parts to specifications using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.Evaluate procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability.Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management.Maintain work area and equipment clean and orderly and follow directed safety procedures.Perform mechanical work as required, such as assembly and disassembly.Manage and organize own work while remaining a team player and handling other assigned tasks as required by the company.Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area.Perform any other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Demonstrated skills in operating manual machines to fulfill a variety of parts or product manufacturing assignments.Experience in a manufacturing machining environment preferred.Experience with measuring tools.Experience with close tolerances, blueprint readings, and metric measurements.Mechanically inclined with the ability to follow specific written instructions and procedures.Exceptional organization and attention to detail.Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.Working knowledge of basic mathematical skills.Willingness to learn with the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.Continually exhibit the qualities of trustworthiness, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.Regular, consistent attendance is a requirement. Overtime as required by the company.Standing, lifting, and walking throughout the plant operations for extended shift periods to perform the essential functions of the role.A minimum of 3-5 years using manual machining equipment preferred.Crane and forklift are a plus but not necessary as we can train.Direct experience with lathes, VTLs and/or CNC machines.
Education and Experience:
