Manual Machinist
**Job Title: Manual Machinist** **Job Description** The Manual Machinist will perform hands-on machining operations and support maintenance, troubleshooting, assessment, and repair work on valves, including block valves, PSV/SRV, and pneumatic and electric actuators. Responsibilities include machining individual components of valves, pumps, and other industrial equipment using various manual machines, performing shop work, maintenance, testing, and repair of valves and actuators, and conducting inspections, reporting, cleaning, and reassembly of valves and actuators. **Responsibilities** + Perform machining and other support operations on individual components of valves, pumps, and other industrial equipment utilizing various manual machines. + Perform hands-on shop work, maintenance, testing (pre/post), and/or repair of valves and actuators. + Conduct workshop inspections, reporting, cleaning, and reassembly of valves and actuators. + Machine material and/or parts with various machining equipment. + Read and interpret schematics for assembly, repair, and reassembly as required. + Perform failure assessments and make recommendations to the on-site supervisor as required. + Perform day-to-day and routine safety observations and inspections. **Essential Skills** + 4+ years of manual machining experience. + Proficiency with manual machining tools such as mills, lathes, and VTL. + Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints. + Experience with drill presses and horizontal boring. + Ability to work within plus or minus 1 inch of tolerance. + Experience with manual lathe, vertical and horizontal mills, cut-off saws, and drill presses. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Specific experience working with valves or within the oil/gas industry is a plus. + Experience with Prototrak lathe is a plus. + Must be a team player and open to other job duties outside of machining when necessary. + Must be open to working overtime as needed, sometimes up to 50-60 hours per week depending on customer workload. **Why Work Here?** The company offers consistent hours and competitive compensation. The current team consists of 10-12 people between the machine shop and welding areas. The shift is Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, and candidates must be open to working overtime. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Benicia, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
