Manufacturer Relations and Dealer Services Manager
Location: Medford, OR ( on-site)
Compensation: $70,000-$80,000 annually
This Manager position is focused on developing manufacturer relationships which includes direct involvement in acquisitions and divestitures. In this vital role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong manufacturer relationships, overseeing dealership changes, and ensuring the smooth execution of acquisitions and other related projects. You will be responsible for leading and guiding the Manufacturer Relations and Dealer Services (MRDS) team and identifying and developing talent for future opportunities within the department. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders and align departmental performance with Lithia Motors' Annual Operating Plan.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Talent Development:
Develop performance benchmarks and establish accountability measures for the MRDS team, fostering a culture of excellence.
Cultivate a pipeline of talent by identifying and nurturing potential leaders within the department.
Lead and inspire the MRDS team to achieve their objectives and grow both professionally and personally.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Facilitate open communication and collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of acquisition and manufacturer-related projects.
Work closely with the Lithia Motors Executive Team to keep them informed about departmental initiatives and progress.
Process Improvement and Efficiency:
Implement and enhance procedures and processes to optimize departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs that align with departmental objectives and procedures.
Manufacturer Relations and Contracts:
Review and negotiate manufacturer contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance and alignment with Lithia Motors' goals.
Manage detailed and complex franchise applications required for new store acquisitions and franchise agreement renewals.
Relationship Management:
Maintain effective communication with manufacturer offices to address their requests for information related to franchise agreements and application packages.
Develop and nurture relationships with third-party dealers during the acquisition and divestiture process.
Compliance and Licensing:
Oversee various compliance-related tasks, such as DMV, Assumed Business Names, OCCC, and City Licenses.
Research complex laws and regulations, completing involved paperwork to obtain and maintain compliance with city and state licensing requirements.
Strategic Planning:
Work closely with Upper Lithia Management to develop and execute long-term strategies, particularly concerning future acquisitions.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, or a related field. (Preferred)
Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably in the automotive industry or related field.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
In-depth knowledge of dealership operations, manufacturer relations, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel.
