POSITION SUMMARY:
A Test Engineer designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. The position performs a variety of technical, multi-disciplined tasks early in the Product Development Process to provide timely, flexible, universal tools and processes. The Test Engineer makes knowledgeable, data-driven decisions and employs innovative technologies with optimal control and maximum speed and flexibility.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure testability of new product designs, providing feedback to design teams addressing opportunities for defects in manufacturing and field use.
- Accurately estimate project costs as associated with implementing test solutions.
- Own the test requirements from the vendor to shipment to the customer.
- Verify products meet their functional requirements - including design verification and manufacturing screens. Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products.
- Analyze capabilities and ensure control of critical parameters of products and test equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Test Engineers regularly work in office, lab, and manufacturing facilities. Travel to international manufacturing and/or development locations may be required.
SKILLS:
Must have strong problem-solving attributes. Able to operate a variety of electrical test instrumentation. Capable in hardware and software development. Strong at communicating with and influencing design teams, vendors, and customers.
EXPERIENCE:
Desirable:
Greater than 3 years of relevant design/development team and/or manufacturing support. Proven ability to methodically solve complex, technical issues. Demonstrated proficency in NI LabView test application development. Fluent English VISA Passport Willing to travel for trainings
EDUCATION:
Essential:
Bachelors Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
Desirable:
6-sigma or equivalent statistical, problem-solving methodology
