We are seeking resumes for Manufacturing Assistant in our Wallula, WA facility.

 

The Manufacturing Assistant (Extra Board) position is the mill’s entry level job. 

Pay and Benefits:

The hourly rate for entry level Manufacturing Assistant (Extraboard) position is $27.50

Employees (and their dependents) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, basic life, and disability insurance coverage, subject to applicable waiting periods. Employees are automatically enrolled in PCA’s 401k retirement plan at the time of hire. Employees are eligible for 40 hours of vacation after one (1) year of service and between 0 and 36 hours of vacation during their first year. Employees also receive nine (9) paid holidays and up to five (5) paid floating holidays per calendar year.

 

The Manufacturing Assistant (Extra Board) will be assigned to specific production departments within the mill such as shipping, paper machines, power & recovery, OCC, and the pulp mill. All Manufacturing Assistants work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule (4- Days on 4- Days off) including graveyards, weekends, and holidays. Manufacturing Assistants can be assigned anywhere throughout the mill and receive the training necessary for success. All new hires begin their career with a 90-day probationary period.

 

This is a union environment. Employees will receive all of the rights and benefits associated with union membership when they join our mill facility.

 

Principle Accountabilities:
 

General clean up throughout the mill using shovels, brooms, water hoses etc.

Operate mobile equipment, including fork lifts, front end loaders, bobcat/skidsteer, roll grab and other types of mobile equipment.

Learn and perform the essential duties of the bottom utility position in the assigned operating department (pulp mill, and paper machines).

Other work as assigned.

 

Basic Qualifications:

Must be 18 years or older

Must have mechanical aptitude, good interpersonal skills, good planning and organizing skills, and a high degree of self-motivation.

Ability to meet our aptitude test standards.

Must have at least 12-months of stable work history.

Must be able to work rotating shifts as described above.

Excellent history in safety in overall work record.

 

High School diploma or GED required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate must possess the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work alone or in a team environment and build relationships with coworkers.

Ability to work safely in a labor intensive and fast paced environment.

Ability to learn quickly and with attention to detail
