SUMMARY:
Manufacturing Associate Manager - Stock Prep/Fiber is responsible for direct supervision of the Fiber receiving and operational areas to include Waste Water treatment, production operations, quality, immediate maintenance coordination and safety. This supervision includes hourly employees on shift, and indirect supervision over more employees on off shifts. The supervisor performs safety, quality, process, and mechanical checks and understands and aligns business operations as they execute the role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial, and operational objectives.
Carries out the day-to-day management of personnel or multiple operations to continually meet all waste water regulation requirements. Provides technical support on water quality, treatment, permitting, laboratory management, and regulatory compliance issues. Ensures Company policy on water quality and related environmental matters is followed.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include, but are not limited to the following:
Work directly with and supervise a team of operations technicians Direct and support activities and personnel compliance in developing a safe work environment and a fostering a culture of safe performance Assists local, State and Federal regulatory agencies during inspections. Responds (on-call) to Water Quality problems, taking appropriate corrective action including documentation to advise management. Reports on problems and issues regarding Water Quality and standards. Assures that policies, programs, standards of performance and approved objectives related to water quality are adhered to. Assists in the procurement of treatment chemicals and manages receipt of chemical supplies to assure adequate supply along with monitoring equipment, chemical feeds, etc. to ensure standards are maintained. Assists with training of plant operating staff, field services and other water quality personnel in treatment practices and environmental initiatives. Supports water quality activities related to the Environmental Management Program to ensure compliance with regulations are continually met Achieve productivity by establishing and communicating clear goals, providing requisite resources to the team, engaging the team, and setting appropriate priorities and monitoring progress Achieve desired level of engagement by providing leadership on the shift. Engagement includes listening and responding to employee issues, taking decisive actions, recognizing excellent performance, and holding employees accountable for performance and personal actions Achieve quality and waste goals by ensuring all direct reports are properly trained on equipment, following proper procedures, performing requisite inspections, and acting upon suggested improvements Administer, communicate, and interpret work procedures and company policies Perform other duties, as assigned
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (Paper Science, Chemical or Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Business Administration, or related field); or significant, closely related work experience required in lieu of degree. (2-5) years of manufacturing supervisory experience, required. Minimum Two (2) to four (4) years experience in water, and/or wastewater, and laboratory operations preferred. Strong working knowledge of water and/or wastewater treatment. Thorough knowledge of water quality and environmental regulations affecting the business. Continuous Improvement – Lean/Six Sigma knowledge preferred.
