Location: Hemlock, MI

 

Purpose of the Position: The Cell Leader will be responsible for leading a team of production operators ensuring the efficient operation of the process and meeting production targets. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality.  There are (12) Cell Leader positions currently available that will be based in our new state of the art facility in Hemlock, MI.

 

Required Education, Skills & Experience

High school diploma or GED 3+ years of working experience in a manufacturing environment Strong technical aptitude and hands-on experience with manufacturing processes and equipment, preferably in cable assembly, wiring harness, or electrical assembly. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a diverse team of production operators. Knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and best practices in manufacturing operations, with a strong commitment to workplace safety and quality excellence. Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing production demands in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to improve production efficiency and quality.

Desired Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate instructions and expectations clearly and concisely. Experience with Lean manufacturing principles, 5S methodology, and continuous improvement initiatives is beneficial.

Soft Skills

Able to communicate equally well with various levels of the organization (engineers, production associates, and managers). Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of production operators providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols. Plan and coordinate daily production activities in the cell, assigning tasks, organizing workflow, and monitoring progress to meet production targets and customer delivery commitments. Train new team members on cell processes, equipment operation, and safety procedures, ensuring proper understanding and compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Perform hands-on production tasks as needed to support production flow and meet production goals. Monitor equipment performance, identify issues or abnormalities, and coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve technical problems promptly. Conduct regular inspections and audits of the cell area, equipment, and workstations to ensure compliance with safety regulations, cleanliness standards, and 5S principles. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize pulling cell processes, increase productivity, and reduce waste, actively soliciting input and ideas from team members. Maintain accurate production records, documentation, and data logs related to production output, scrap rates, downtime, and quality metrics, providing regular reports to management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and logistics, to address production issues, implement corrective actions, and drive process improvements. Promote a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork within the team, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and accountability among team members.

Work Hours

Rotating shift Managing a 24/7 plant structure, so occasional support when needed.

The range for this position is  $55,491.00   -  $76,301.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
