Manufacturing Design Engineer
Manufacturing Design Engineer Department: Engineering and R&D Employment Type: Full Time Location: New Bedford, Massachusetts Reporting To: Engineering Manager Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 / year Description Design and optimize capacitor products using advanced mathematical concepts and engineering disciplines. Key Responsibilities + Uses computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs. + Communicate both verbally and in writing, in concise and effective manner with technical organization, manufacturing operators and with customers. + Analyzes engineering data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposal and prepare modifications where required. + Clarify and resolve problems and develop capacitor designs. + Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype products or systems. + Plans and develop experimental test programs. + Analyzes test data and prepares reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. + Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks. + Interface with customers and suppliers to develop and/or clarify requirements. + Work with manufacturing to improve Design for Manufacturability. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise + Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software + Knowledge of ERP Systems and the impact engineering has creating BOMs, routing and item masters + BSME OR BSEE + Experience with developing a product from concept to production + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) + Experience working with manufacturing-based technology, processing, and principles (MS project, AS400, Lean Six Sigma) + Perform other work-related duties as assigned. + Must be able to handle high stress levels and deadlines. The starting base pay for this role is $60,000 to $70,000 per year. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining us, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company.
