Manufacturing Design Engineer Intern

As a L4 Manufacturing Design Engineer (MDE) intern, he/she will be the technical supporting person onsite for assembly-related problems. He/She will be responsible for collecting first hand data and identifying the assembly and process improvement for our product. He/she will be the main interface among the MDE lead of Lab126 and our CM partners and fixture/equipment suppliers.
Key job responsibilities
• Work with the MDE lead to identify, mitigate and escalate assembly challenges by enforcing DFA (Assembly), and DFM (Manufacturing) principles.
• Provide feedback for design for assembly.
• Use statistical tools for process data analysis.
• Support the MDE lead to introduce the assembly technology and methodologies to enhance product quality and production efficiencies.
• Collect and verify the data for fixture and process qualification.
• Support prototype builds, including SOP, fixture and process validation, issue identification.
• Support the in-build validation activities for end to end assembly FATP process
• Drive factory-related operational issues related to subassembly and final assembly processes during pre-production builds; ensure effective closure of assembly -related issues
• Travel to Contract Manufacturers to understand the issues and verify the data.
• Ensure timely and accurate communication between the Amazon internal team and our OEM partners.
