Manufacturing Engineer

Summary: Seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with specialized experience in Investment Casting and Medical Device industry for new project development.

Requirements:

B.S. in Engineering required.

Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Investment Casting Engineer.

Experience within regulated industries (Medical Device, Automotive, or Aerospace).

Expertise in new casting product launches from feasibility to full validation and commercialization.

Knowledgeable in wax pattern tool/mold design.

Project management skills.

Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and technical drawing interpretation per ASME Y1

4.5M standards.

Proficient in interpreting Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) reports.

Skilled with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Project), and Minitab.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with PFMEA/DFMEA, Gage R&R, TMV, Risk Assessments, and Control Plans.

Experience with equipment validations (IQ, OQ & PQ).

Background in Sand, Die Casting or Foam Castings; Wax or Plastic Injection Molding; CNC Machining of Castings.

Solid Modelling proficiency (NX/Unigraphics, SolidWorks, Pro-E).

Simulation software expertise (Solidification, FEA, Mold Flow, CFM).

Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.

Green or Black Belt Six Sigma certification.

Knowledge of additive manufacturing (3D Printing).

Statistical Analysis skills using Mini-tab software.

Responsibilities:

Lead the launch of new casting products ensuring successful feasibility studies through to validation and market release.

Design and develop wax pattern tools/molds for casting processes while collaborating closely within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Manage projects effectively to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.

Additional Information:

Must have foundry experience specifically in Sand or Die casting as a top requirement. Candidates from companies such as Zimmer Biomed or Stryker preferred due to their internal investment casting foundries. Work hours are Monday-Friday on the first shift. No overtime is expected for this position which has a duration of 6 months plus potential extension. U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required due to ITAR regulations; H1B acceptable but no OPT/EAD/F1 or TN Visa candidates will be considered.
