Eaton’s EPG CHD ALP Airport Lighting Products division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. The expected annual salary range for this role is $92287.53 - $135355.04 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

What you’ll do:

The primary function of the role is to design and optimize manufacturing processes for the improvement of existing products and the launch of new products.  All manufacturing processes need to meet the environmental, safety and health compliance requirements for the facility and maintain compliance with Eaton’s MESH requirements.  

 

Essential Responsibilities:

Work closely with product engineering in product changes/new product introductionsDesign and optimize manufacturing processes for the improvement of existing products and the launch of new productsDevelop and maintain work instructions for manufacturing processes, and train others on the processDevise and implement concepts/ideas for design of equipment and manufacturing processesSupport capital plan by completing projects, writing CAR’s, tracking status of projects, forecasting spend and completion dates.Assist manufacturing personnel out on the floor troubleshooting equipment & systems and addressing product quality issues Analyzes discrepant parts and directs actions to prevent their reoccurrence using 8D, PFMEA and other root cause analysis toolsProvide detailed engineering analysis and documentation in the management of material disposition, process updates, and engineering changes.Assist in developing and implementing cost reduction initiatives through continuous improvement (kaizen) eventsApply Lean Six Sigma methodologies and strategies and train others in order to execute projects and Kaizens.Work with plant management team to establish, maintain and complete a CI calendar of events (Kaizens/RIE’s (Rapid Improvement Events), Self-Assessments, training, etc.). Lead cost out data tracking and analysis utilizing Cost Out DatabasePerforms special projects and investigations at directions of immediate supervisorQualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering required from an accredited institution.No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Windsor, CT to be considered.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency using SolidWorks Software (or equivalent)Formal Lean or Six Sigma trainingGreen Belt certificationExperience with and working knowledge of an enterprise business system / ERP such as SAPKnowledge, skills and abilities in CNC Machine Operations and/or programmingStrong analytical skills and understanding of problem-solving tools/methods (Six Sigma, 8D, etc.), goal setting, and performance tracking.Experience coordinating and leading successful cross-functional improvements.
