Manufacturing Engineer

The  Manufacturing Engineer responsibilities are to design and develop engineering data to be used by production and quality team members.  Manufacturing Engineers are required to interpret and report engineering data to internal and external stakeholders. This position is an integral part for development of production/quality planning with responsibilities including but not limited to work instructions, inspection plans, configuration management, and manufacturing plans.
 
Essential Functions Liaison with shop supervisors, programmers, planners, and program managers and will assist with special projects as required. Create manufacturing plans for detail parts and assemblies. Verify internal plans meet customer engineering and purchase order requirements. Develop and assist with creation of manufacturing support documentation such as in-process inspection plans, internal procedures or standard work instructions, dimensional inspection reports, and supplier production plans. Design and develop 3D models for internal fixtures, assembly tooling, packaging crates, etc. Identify and define configuration on product when it is not manufactured per engineering requirements. Interrogate customer engineering to identify, plan and communicate to interested parties for any embedded requirements.   Assist with purchasing and estimating as required. Coordinate technical review meetings with shop managers, NC programming and planning for new product and/or engineering changes. Required Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or similar technical field is preferred (a combination of non-technical education and relevant work experience or specialized training may be considered in lieu of technical degree). Required Work Experience Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in manufacturing is required. Familiar with AS9100 and AS9102 regulations. Familiar with aerospace material and specifications. Familiar with aerospace machining and assembly practices and specifications. Familiar with aerospace quality requirements and specifications. Experience with CATIA V5 preferred.
