Jabil has a need for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI. How will you make an impact? As a Manufacturing Engineer with Jabil, will s upport the Manufacturing team through the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and supporting documentation. The qualified candidate will also assist the Process Engineers with the analysis of process metrics and issues, equipment selection and setup, manufacturing documentation, and the manufacturing process flow. What will you do? + Create programs for various manufacturing equipment such as PLC, Robotic, and specific assembly equipment operating systems. + Support overall manufacturing process development including Manufacturing line layout; Equipment identification and selection; and Tooling identification and selection (such as stencils, wave/reflow pallets, assembly fixtures, and prep dies). + Support line balancing activities, including structuring the internal bill of materials in alignment with manufacturing processes. + Implement changes to continuously improve quality and process efficiencies. + Lead team members in the creation and maintenance of documentation required to support the production process including Process flow diagrams; Procedures, work instructions, and visual aids; Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA); and Assembly Request Forms. + Author and execute equipment qualifications (IQ, OQ) + Review and analyze key metrics. + Provide training and coaching to facilitate the integration of newly hired Process Engineers or Process Engineer Technicians + Conduct thorough root cause analysis and drive corrective action, including verification, in response to product quality problems or process failures. + Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal staff to resolve manufacturing-related issues. + Prepare manufacturing quotes and new product quoting by reviewing customer-supplied data and creating assumptions related to establishing a production process and estimating product run rates. + Complete Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and or Design for Assembly (DFA) activities + Assess actual performance to quoted rates and take action to minimize gaps. + Conduct capital investment planning and make recommendations. + Provide on-call support to resolve engineering-related issues arising beyond normal business hours. + Work safely at all times and comply with Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices along with all other work rules. How will you get here? Education: + Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent training Experience: + At least 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer OR other combination of education and experience.
