Job Description
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be directly responsible for building, testing, qualifying, and producing next-generation spacecraft. You will utilize innovative solutions and cutting-edge technology to solve difficult manufacturing and engineering problems daily, at both a systems and specialized level. You will be a critical lynchpin between the production, development, tooling, supply chain, and quality teams, leading production on the assembly line as well as new production introduction. You will be the first line of support for all technical challenges to the production team, using your expertise to rapidly respond to, triage, and solve product issues which slow down factory throughput. Finally, you will be responsible for standing up new processes, equipment, and assembly lines to support an aggressive build ramp, making data-driven decisions at each step in the process.
ResponsibilitiesBuild, test, qualify, and produce next-generation spacecraft.Utilize innovative solutions and cutting-edge technology to solve manufacturing and engineering problems.Act as a lynchpin between production, development, tooling, supply chain, and quality teams.Lead production on the assembly line and new production introduction.Provide first-line support for technical challenges to the production team.Respond to, triage, and solve product issues that slow down factory throughput.Stand up new processes, equipment, and assembly lines to support build ramp.Make data-driven decisions at each step in the process.Essential SkillsFamiliarity with Low Rate Manufacturing Environments & New Product IntroductionKnowledge of Lean manufacturing practices & principlesExperience with Root Cause Analysis Techniques such as Fishbone, Fault Tree, DMAIC, etc.Strong analytical skillsStrong communication and writing skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with SAP or similar ERP softwareExperience with NX Unigraphics or similar CAD softwareExperience with Aerospace &/or Optical ManufacturingExperience with Python Programming LanguageExperience with Optical System Design & Optical MetrologyExperience with Fiber Optic SystemsExperience with Statistical Analysis Software such as Minitab
Shift: Sunday - Wednesday 5pm-3:30am.
