What You'll Do
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will:
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing operations, including fixturing, tooling, and methods.
Implement new processes and equipment, and perform equipment qualification and validation.
Identify deficiencies and apply Lean Sigma principles to enhance the manufacturing environment.
Conduct pre-reviews and post-reviews of jobs to ensure continuous improvement in cost reduction and quality.
Respond promptly to manufacturing problems and work extra hours when required.
Develop and implement new machine documentation to achieve organizational objectives.
Serve as a technical resource for all facets of machine shop operations, including setup, programming, and tooling for screw machines and CNC machines.
Read blueprints, interpret drawings and dimensions, and assist with the development of Inspection Planning Sheets (IPS).
Analyze and plan workforce space requirements, workflow, ergonomics, and equipment layout for maximum efficiency.
Collaborate with planning, quality, purchasing, assembly, and design staff to ensure efficient production methods.
Estimate production times and related costs for management decisions.
Perform time studies to create or improve standard work instructions and manufacturing line balancing.
Maintain positive working relationships with manufacturing personnel and other staff members.
Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Create and maintain accurate work instructions and visual aids for manufacturing cells.
Perform limited maintenance on assembly tooling and equipment.
Ensure proper understanding and application of ISO and medical procedures in day-to-day operations.
What You'll Need
A Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3-5 years of experience, or 10 years of experience in a related field.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and project management.
Skills in CAD/CAM and SolidWorks are preferred.
Green/Black Belt certification is preferred, and Shanin Problem Solving for Manufacturing is a plus.
Ability to lift 40 lbs to a height of 36 inches.
Must be able to work in both office and machining environments.
