Job Overview

This role is with a startup company, currently focusing on a new plant. The team is in the process of getting machines in place and setting up their processes. In this role, you will have the opportunity to have autonomy, making a direct impact while developing state of the art products using new technology. This system is years ahead of competitors and has only been produced by 2-3 other companies globally. Internal operational growth is available. 

Job Description

We're seeking a Sr Manufacturing Engineer with a proven track record in overseeing the installation of production machinery and resolving production issues related to materials, processes, and tooling, all the way through to production. Successful candidates will also be responsible for setting up work cells, writing detailed work instructions, and leading a team of engineers and technicians. Experience in automation is a plus.

Designing tools and machines used for product manufacturingReviewing and making recommendations on production program equipment, hardware, and toolingOverseeing the development of new processes, methods, and production controlsInstalling new equipment and ensuring operational correctness, including training others to operate new machineryPreparing operations manuals for new or existing equipmentMaintaining knowledge of new and developing manufacturing technology, equipment, and applications; applying this knowledge to recommend and implement new technology and processesPerforming time studies and developing lean methodology to increase OEE in all areas of manufacturing, including welding, robotic assembly, vacuum brazing, and CNC machiningAssisting with product designs and specifications, evaluating the feasibility and manufacturability of designs, and overseeing Process FMEAsContributing actively to the machine design from the manufacturing/assembly engineer’s perspective and liaising with other engineers in the team during the design and manufacturing processDesigning test apparatus and equipment and developing procedures for testing products, components, and sub-assemblies

Qualifications

A Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering is required.Proficiency with computer-aided drafting software. Soildworks is preferred.Programming of robotic assembly and welding equipment is preferredExperience with FMEA, FEA, CFD, DOELean Manufacturing/Six Sigma tools
