Engineering Manager
Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to optimize the Production organization’s assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety. Each day, you will ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets. You will also showcase your expertise by defining the working phase sequence of a new production process to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget.The work model for the role is: #LI - OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Motion NEMA Motors division in Flowery Branch, GA. Main stakeholders are both our internal and external customers.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tIdentifying and recommending improvement opportunities and implements improvement pro-jects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality, and cost requirements.•\tApproving the design for processes developed internally or externally and performing final tests with respect to the project.•\tProviding support to Production during the internal/external process/equipment start-up, de-fining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources.•\tEvaluating new process technologies to improve productivity, quality, and cost reduction, defining and leading testing activities, approval criteria, and external provider choices.Our team dynamicsYou will join a very close nit and collaborative team where all new ideas are welcomed!
Qualifications for the role\tB.S. in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Engineer-ing Technology equivalent degree required.\tA minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience\t5 years’ experience in project management and capital equipment justification, and applied computer-controlled metal machining technologies. Must be familiar with various machine con-trols and be able to edit appropriate CNC programs.\tMust be able to utilize engineering computer programs (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.), Microsoft Office, SAP, and our other manufacturing systems software/applications.\tWelding, punch and die press operations, die casting highly desired.\tElectric motor manufacturing and Lean manufacturing experience a plus.\tCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
