Description:

You will be the Manufacturing Engineer for the Precision Fires Production Operations organization supporting the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS). Our team is responsible for ensuring suppliers and make sites are producing conforming hardware to meet production schedules.



What You Will Be Doing
As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for leading manufacturing process line validation activities, supporting both supplier and Make tooling sites, driving tool action requests through SAP and Windchill, traveling to various manufacturing facilities including suppliers and other Lockheed sites to support PLV’s or tooling related issues that may arise, and any other program related manufacturing or tooling issues that may arise. Your responsibilities will include:
• Building positive relationships, communicating across functional and physical boundaries, managing cost, schedule, quality, and safety
• Communication with our government customers, influence of design producibility, transition of new or revised designs from development into production, leading manufacturing process validation, identification and mitigation of production risks, Lockheed Martin and supplier manufacturing support
• Driving collaboration and partnership between the program team and manufacturing sites to optimize program production and meet customer commitments, while being a critical enabler of Operations Transformation
• Collaborating with Program Leadership (Program Managers, IPT Leads, Chief Engineers), cross-functional support (Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Finance, Production Planning and Control, and Master Planning), as well as various levels of functional team members and leaders to ensure program objectives are being met and brief them on risks to those objectives

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of professional experience
• Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
• Experience with Manufacturing / Assembly / Production processes.
• Ability to travel domestic and/or international.
• Ability to liaison between LM Subcontractors, internal disciplines, and LM shop(s) Production Operations.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Security clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical people.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing and presentations.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including team building, collaboration and developing enduring business relationships.
• Master's degree in technical discipline (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, etc.).
• Experience in design for manufacturing / assembly or design to cost.
• Experience in support of production processes.
• Experience working with Government customers.
• Knowledge and ability to navigate Windchill.
• Knowledge of SAP and/or an MRP production control system.
• Previous experience implementing change to improve processes / Process Improvement experience.
• Proven ability to improve cost, schedule, quality and/or safety.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
