Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description: Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer with over 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in lean manufacturing, process routing, secondary processes, and nondestructive testing (NDT). A degree is preferred but not mandatory. The candidate must also have 3 or more years of experience with conventional lathe, mill, and CNC machining, with a preference for lathe experience. Familiarity with CAM software, especially MasterCAM, is essential.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and standardize machining processes, tooling, and equipment.Spend approximately 75% of the day on the shop floor, focusing on editing and modifying programs on machines versus process improvement projects.Oversee around 20 machines in the shop, ensuring all programs are ready to go, updated, and processes are modified as needed.Collaborate with machinists and operators during setups and first-time releases.Develop CNC programs for multi-axis CNC lathes and mills via CAM software.Create fixtures and 3D models as necessary.Develop standard operating procedures and training guides for CNC machining and other processes.Troubleshoot problems on CNC machines and manufacturing processes.Perform contract reviews for manufacturability and develop robust processes.Provide technical support for the design and manufacture of jigs, fixtures, and special tools.Develop testing requirements and procedures to ensure compliance with customer and design specifications.Introduce new products, including routed processes, BOMs, in-process drawings, and special tooling.Support the procurement and implementation of new equipment and processes.Proactively prepare for upcoming jobs and troubleshoot problems as they arise.Work with manufacturing, quality, and engineering personnel to resolve quality issues.Perform value analysis on existing designs to reduce overall product costs.Support cellular manufacturing and lead setup reduction efforts.Participate in the MRB process by addressing non-conformances and creating rework instructions.Essential Skills7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering3+ years of experience with conventional lathe, mill, and CNC machiningExperience with lean manufacturing, process routing, secondary processes, and NDTAbility to develop CNC programs for multi-axis CNC lathes and mills via CAM software (MasterCAM preferred)Experience with Fanuc-controlled machinesProficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or NX)Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in cellular manufacturingFamiliarity with the 8-D problem-solving methodFixture design experienceExperience with AS9100 standardPay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $60.00
