Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of machining and fabrication processes, tooling, and fixtures to produce fully finished precision parts for fluid control devices used in various industries such as medical, industrial, and material handling. This role involves supporting the design of tools and fixtures using Solid Edge or Solidworks, setting up, programming, and troubleshooting CNC mills and turning equipment, and utilizing precision gaging/inspection equipment with an understanding of GD&T.

ResponsibilitiesProvide cost estimates for engineering time, capital, tooling, and fixtures required for new processes.Assure equipment designs are safe and provide ergonomic operation for manufacturing operators.Meet cost, capital, and product performance goals with the process.Assure minimum effective module sizes to allow volume linearity of capital where possible.Develop assembly and test line concepts that allow flexible running of multiple product families with exchangeable or common tooling, labor linearity across multiple staffing levels, efficient capital utilization, and high line output.Ensure 5 Sigma Process capability Cpk of 1.67 for KPC’s and Cpk of 1.33 for other dimensions.Conduct PFMEA’s to assure processes with low RPNs, focusing on design solutions, tooling solutions, and quality checks to address risk areas.Apply error proofing at operation and in layered approach with other processes where feasible.Develop PCP process control plans for KPC’s, KCC’s, etc., with SPC as appropriate.Develop problem response charts for key product and process failure modes.Design processes for maintainability, including planned and preventative maintenance.Load PM plans in the system with input from maintenance and others as appropriate.Develop and release process workbooks and associated operator standard work documents for key review meetings.Raise ECO process packages, assign actions, and follow up to assure close out.Provide timing charts, cost, and resource estimates for tooling and fixtures.Assure hours are logged to appropriate projects and money spent to appropriate sub-projects.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Engineering - Manufacturing or MechanicalFabrication experienceExperience developing manufacturing processes3D CAD design - Solidworks or Solid EdgeProject Management experienceAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with CAM software or equivalentExperience selecting and purchasing equipment and toolsWork Environment

The Manufacturing Engineer will report to a team lead and work closely with a team of three manufacturing engineers. Typical working hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with some flexibility. The work environment involves collaboration with product development engineers, quality engineers, and operators to ensure that products are designed for efficient manufacturing. The organization specializes in the design and manufacture of pneumatic and fluid control valves, valve systems, and customized products for industries such as medical, analytical, factory automation, test and measurement, and process control. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $43.30
