Job Description
This position, referred to internally as an Engineer In Training, is designed to provide new graduates with exposure to various departments to determine where they excel. The contract lasts one year with the potential for extension, but the entire program runs for three years. Upon completion of the program, participants will work with leadership to identify the best long-term department based on preferences, data, and business needs. Participants will rotate through three main departments: molding, assembly, and paint assembly. They will collaborate with engineering management and senior-level engineers to develop competencies in each area.
ResponsibilitiesApply the fundamentals of molding, assembly, paint assembly, machining, and machine tool technologies to manufacture and alter machine components.Help eliminate waste throughout all aspects of the production process by using company-provided tools, from the conception of a new part to the final customer.Conduct internal audits.Develop and maintain plant floor layout and processes.Support continuous improvement projects related to cost savings and efficiencies.Assemble complete fixtures using machined and purchased sub-components and systems.Develop and maintain a functional understanding of machine safety standards and practices.Select, document, and assemble pneumatic systems.Perform electrical and mechanical installations, start-ups, and commissioning for new and existing fixtures requiring engineering change work in the tool room or on the floor.Participate in design reviews and department development meetings for input on robustness and manufacturing improvements.Interface with internal and external designers, plant engineering, and other staff members.Develop and maintain best practices and machine standards.Create and alter existing designs and BOMs for engineering changes.Assist with PFEMA for upcoming projects.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing).Graduated in 2022, 2023, or expected graduation in 2024.High initiative and a proactive attitude, verified through references.Internship experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in plastics, molding, assembly, or paint.Additional Skills & QualificationsPlastics experience.Experience within molding, assembly, or paint processes.Work Environment
The Vicksburg plant is the flagship plant in the USA, known for its high revenue and focus on developing talent within a large facility. The role involves reporting to engineering managers and working cross-functionally with several other engineering managers and engineers. Typical working hours for the first 3-6 months will be 40 hours per week, increasing to up to 45 hours thereafter, with a 7-7:30 AM start time. The company is a plastic injection molder that manufactures automotive interior systems, including complete consoles, console components, console trim, door panels, and kinematics. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $31.25
