Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will participate in continuous improvement activities, assist in implementing changes to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and the environment. This role involves driving continuous improvement teams, managing projects, documenting progress, and providing training to internal employees.

ResponsibilitiesParticipate in and drive continuous improvement teams, providing expertise, direction, and advice.Manage continuous improvement projects by documenting meetings, establishing timelines, goals, objectives, and working within budget parameters.Develop and maintain PFMEA documentation and lead RPN reduction activities within the plant.Update and maintain overall plant layout.Facilitate training sessions for internal employees on welding, robotics, PLC, and other areas as needed.Document current projects, including cost, quotes, payback, timelines, goals, and provide information to management.Coordinate the implementation of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), both internally and customer-driven.Develop, validate, and maintain manufacturing process routings and Master Data (e.g., routings, BOM).Update product-related documentation, such as set-up and operator instruction sheets, and provide operator training.Assist operators in troubleshooting issues related to new equipment and recommend corrective actions.Engage with customers on continuous improvement activities related to part/component manufacturing.Train maintenance employees on equipment maintenance and troubleshooting procedures related to continuous improvement projects.Initiate and perform engineering tryouts.Monitor and assist operations on capacity validation activities.Contribute to a safe, clean, and comfortable work environment by adhering to the principles of the 5S discipline.Ensure compliance with the laws of Ontario and/or any other province or state while representing the company.Handle various personalities when facilitating continuous improvement teams to achieve project success.Identify improvement opportunities that contribute to quality and cost while meeting customer requirements.Meet budget parameters and established project timelines.Maintain and update required documents in compliance with IATF standards.Establish and maintain relationships with senior management, employees at all levels within the organization, customers, and suppliers of assembly and manufacturing equipment.Essential SkillsKnowledge of lean manufacturing principlesExperience with automotive/welding equipment and robotics (FANUC)Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $53.00
