Manufacturing Engineer
Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing and overseeing the manufacturing process of mechanical components, ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the production cycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical manufacturing and be proficient in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks. Responsibilities + Formulate and execute manufacturing work instructions. + Oversee vendor and contract manufacturing, including onsite bring-up of designs. + Apply GD&T for dimensional control of parts and assemblies. + Utilize basic machining and fabrication skills for prototypes and fixtures. + Create fixture designs and work with vendors to develop designs. + Take designs from conception through to production, resolving any issues that arise. + Travel up to 20% of the time, primarily within the U.S., with trips lasting a few days each month. + Work on the implementation of manufacturing processes, including creating instructions and working in CAD to make parts. + Engage in hands-on activities such as part fabrication, tooling development, and corrective action identification. Essential Skills + Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a strong focus on Mechanical Design or Manufacturing. + 5-10 years of experience in mechanical manufacturing. + Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks. + Experience in creating manufacturing work instructions and executing corrective actions. + Experience in vendor and contract manufacturing oversight. + Application of GD&T for parts and assemblies. + Basic machining and fabrication skills. + Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills. + Proficiency in Google G-Suite applications. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in composite manufacturing, including layups and bonding. + Experience in tooling and fixturing design. + Proficiency in CATIA and 3dx. + Experience with CNC or CMM operations and CAM generation. + Quality control and dimensional analysis of complex part geometries. + Experience with adhesives and bonding processes. + Experience with resin casting and podding. Work Environment Our team is dedicated to building lift propellers and includes three design engineers, one principal engineer, and other key members. The work environment is collaborative and hands-on, providing an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the EVTOL industry. The role requires travel within the U.S. approximately once a month, with trips lasting a few days each time. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $58.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
