Manufacturing Engineer
Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Position Objective: Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for creating, documenting, and implementing manufacturing processes to enhance product throughput, reliability, and quality using analytical tools and techniques. Key Responsibilities: + Design and Control: + Identify process improvement areas through daily observations and employee discussions. + Lead kaizen events and other lean techniques to boost productivity, reliability, and quality. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document process improvements aligned with strategic plans. + Document and calculate real savings from approved projects, developing key metrics like lead times. + Ownership: + Plan, document, and implement manufacturing processes using Lean and/or Six Sigma strategies. + Maintain documentation supporting the manufacturing of equipment. + Manage all manufacturing data within the Epicor ERP system. + Coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements. + Support: + Assist with the design of equipment for custom vehicle upfits. + Provide support to product teams related to the design and manufacture of equipment. + Support the implementation of the new product introduction process. + Ensure proper ergonomics in workstation setup, processes, tooling, and safety equipment. + Apply statistical analysis techniques, including histograms, Pareto analysis, correlation, SPC, and MSA. + Culture: + Uphold company values daily. + Follow all safety and health policies. + Direct workflow with guidance on top-level output requirements. Required Skills: + Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. + Practical knowledge of lean principles and concepts. + Ability to handle both low-level tasks (e.g., document creation) and high-level tasks (e.g., process design). + Understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and distribution techniques. + Strong communication skills, both oral and written. + Problem-solving skills using logic and reasoning. + Teamwork and collaboration abilities. + Continuous learning and technical knowledge updating. + Ability to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and standards. Required Experience and Education: + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field. + 7-10 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer. + 2-5 years of experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma manufacturing strategies. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience in machining center and/or electro-mechanical assembly. + Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS PDM. + Experience with Epicor ERP. + Six Sigma Green Belt or higher. + Basic CAD capabilities for equipment/floor layout. Physical Requirements: + Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. + Occasionally walk, sit, operate machinery, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach above shoulders. + Regularly talk, listen, move, and frequently use hands. + Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
