Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer I
Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer I provides real-time, in-process manufacturing engineering support for supervisors and operators actively engaged in electro-mechanical assembly operations.
Responsibilities
+ Develop detailed work instructions and production routers based on a thorough evaluation and clear understanding of the technical data package (TDP) provided by the customer.
+ Provide manufacturing engineering oversight for First Piece audits as required by manufacturing operating procedures.
+ Evaluate, develop, and recommend manufacturing processes and process instructions by conducting initial assessment of assembly issues during assembly. Review suggested changes with the appropriate manufacturing engineer, supervisor, and assembler.
+ Redline work instructions to correct any errors or provide clarification. Coordinate with the appropriate manufacturing engineer to ensure edits are incorporated into official documents.
+ Improve manufacturing efficiency by working on the production floor to identify and design fixtures and tooling to aid assembly operators and assist supervisors in specific actions to reduce assembly time.
+ Provide documentation support during new product release and subsequent contract release by participating in activities that support bill of material maintenance, engineering change orders, and rework routers when required.
+ Conduct analysis on TDP to determine corrective actions when necessary.
+ Generate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
+ Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and rework instructions.
+ Perform other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of this organization.
Essential Skills
+ Understanding of lean manufacturing, synchronous flow manufacturing, and work balancing.
+ Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures.
+ Proficiency in CAD or similar software platform.
+ Experience with CAD/CAM Circuit Design or similar software.
+ Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as a team player.
+ Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to work in a complex contract manufacturing environment with constantly changing customer demands, including a vertically integrated assembly environment with circuit card assembly, wire harness, and chassis build requiring integration of multi-level sub-assembly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate's Degree in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
+ 3 years of experience on a manufacturing engineering team, preferably in a related industry, or in a similar environment of high mix/low volume production.
+ Experience with translating mechanical drawings contained in the TDP to operational instructions.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.66/hr.
