Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a self-motivated and solution focused professional to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work directly with R&D and our Manufacturing teams to develop new products, enhance current product offerings, and optimize these products for manufacturing.
Development will include gaining an extensive knowledge of the manufacturing processes and technologies, setting up and maintaining bills of materials (BOM) in the business system (Dynamics AX), performing capacity analyses, training production assemblers, and improving/simplifying manufacturing processes. You will also be responsible for extensive project management to deliver Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) on-time and in collaboration with your business partners.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
1. Provide technical leadership to product operations; assist supervisors with new techniques, procedures, processes and problem solving. Own the manufacturing engineering support for defined product lines.
2. Drive product/project decisions between R&D and manufacturing.
3. Develop, maintain, follow, and improve manufacturing engineering area processes. Create specifications for tools and new equipment.
4. Drive proto/pilot builds through manufacturing. Analyze results and provide written reports to production and R&D, and the Manufacturing Operations team.
5. Provide business system, process flow, and design for manufacturability input to R&D during new product development.
This job might be for you if you have:
1. B.S. in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
2. 2 years’ experience in electronic manufacturing processes.
3. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
4. Knowledge/experience in any of the following: manufacturing tooling design, material flow modeling, process design, cabling, and reliability.

Pay Range Data:
Associate Manufacturing Engineer, $60,800 – $95,000. Manufacturing Engineer, $69,100 – $108,100. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Our ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location.
