Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description The Welding Engineer will be responsible for all welding-related activities. This person will review customer specifications, identify project-specific welding procedures, communicate with customers to resolve welding comments or issues, maintain existing weld procedures, create new weld procedures as required, test welders, and create and maintain welder qualification documentation. Responsibilities + Review customer specifications related to welding. + Identify and implement project-specific welding procedures. + Communicate with customers to resolve welding comments or issues. + Maintain existing weld procedures and create new ones as necessary. + Test welders and create welder qualification documentation. + Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, particularly for defense customers. Essential Skills + Experience in welding, metallurgy, and writing work instructions. + Knowledge of fabrication practices including welding, heat treatment, mechanical testing, and non-destructive testing. + Familiarity with standards such as AWS, ASTM, NAVSEA, and MIL-SPEC. + Proficiency in Solidworks. Additional Skills & Qualifications + BS degree in welding, metallurgical, mechanical, or civil engineering with 5 years of experience, or an associate's degree with 7+ years of experience. + Experience writing SOPs and work instructions for defense customers. Work Environment The role is based in Crestwood, MO, just 5 minutes from I-44. The company has been in business for over 130 years and specializes in custom-engineered equipment for unique applications in the boat industry. The team includes about 50 employees, with 12 engineers and 2 Professional Engineers (PEs). The facility handles both government and private sector projects, with 80% of the products being custom-built. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
