As Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. You will own, evaluate, and optimize current and new processes to drive efficiencies in production using lean tools. You must design and implement manufacturing methods and processes that continually improve employee safety, product quality, and labor productivity goals and objectives for both new and existing products. **WHAT YOU WILL DO** • Provide necessary support within the factory and department to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. • Troubleshoot manufacturing problems and implements timely sustainable solutions to maintain continuity of production flow. • Participate on new product development projects. Interfaces with other departments during development process to ensure design for safety, quality, manufacturability, and cost position. • Interface with other departments during development of processes to ensure design for safety, quality, manufacturability, and cost position. • Design, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters. • Prepare design drawings, cost estimates, financial justification, and implementation schedules for production equipment and tooling. • Review and recommend changes to mechanical drawings and process documentation. • Review changes implemented by Design Engineers prior to final signoff. Recommends any needed changes. • Interface with vendors and outside sales personnel to evaluate, cost estimate, and select purchase parts and production equipment. • Lead and participate on Improvement Workshops (Kaizens). • Develop, update, and maintain Bill of Materials, product routings, and cost structure information in ERP system. • Monitor and debug production and test methods / procedures to ensure system efficiencies. • Interface with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve operational issues. • Assist in developing new members to the engineering teams on tasks/or tools they must be proficient in. • May be the subject matter expert for certain products or processes. • Performs time studies to set new production rates. • Practitioner, facilitator, & champion of Vontier Business Systems tools identified collectively with manager. **WHO YOU ARE** • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Industrial, Mechanical or Electro-mechanical Engineering, or a comparable combination of training and experience. • At least two (2) years of specifically related experience required. • Knowledge and experience with lean tools and principles would be beneficial. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. • Experience with Solidworks is a plus. • Proficiency with the following software and machines (Preferred but not required): o GerbTool – Stencil Development and ordering and PCB layer design review. o Aegis – SMT machine assembly programs, work instruction. o Stencil Printers o SMT (Surface Mount Technology) machines o Reflow Ovens o AOI Machines o Selective Solder o Axial Insertion o Wave Solder PCB (Printed Circuit Boards) Wash _Candidates for this position must be eligible to work within the United States of America._ _This position is not currently offering sponsorship or relocation assistance now or in the foreseeable future._ **WHO IS GILBARCO VEEDER-ROOT** Gilbarco Veeder-Root, a Vontier company, is the worldwide technology leader for retail and commercial fueling operations, offering the broadest range of integrated solutions from the forecourt to the convenience store and head office.
