Manufacturing Engineer
Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description

The Manufacturing Engineer is an intermediate-level engineering position requiring knowledge of engineering principles and demonstrated experience in their application. This includes providing technical support to the manufacturing and repair organizations and assuming technical responsibility for assigned components to safely deliver quality parts based on customer requirements. The Manufacturing Engineer will receive technical assignments of increasing difficulty, working under the supervision of a lead engineer or management to implement component improvements.

ResponsibilitiesConceptualize and assist with the design of processes on component and manufacturing method-specific tasks including CNC machines as assigned by management.Define the proper inspection methods, techniques, and criteria to meet technical requirements, including all manual and electronic means such as CMM.Conceptualize and assist with the design of tooling for processes on component and manufacturing method-specific tasks including CNC machines as assigned by management.Assist with process monitoring based on first-time quality (FTQ) and component cycle time metrics to meet operational targets.Confer with operations staff to develop and author work procedures for individual steps of the manufacturing/repair process and apply corrective actions addressing nonconformance.Confer with vendors to determine product specifications, arrange for the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and capacity, resolving issues to increase product output or quality.Assist management with customer interaction, maintaining satisfaction and a high level of quality.Establish and maintain tooling, including programming of equipment to ensure process stability.Essential SkillsExperience in manufacturing engineering and manufacturing processes.Proficiency in Solidworks and familiarity with CNC machines.Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly on the shop floor.Strong communication skills for interacting with production teams, engineering teams, and vendors.Additional Skills & QualificationsBS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required.3-5 years of industry experience working in a machine shop or manufacturing facility, with consideration for less experience.Experience with CAD design tools for 3D modeling.Work Environment

The role involves working in a heavy manufacturing/shop environment, spending significant time on the shop floor and getting hands dirty. It also requires utilizing software tools for CAD design and project presentations. The Gas Turbine Assembly Group is projected to double in size within the next two years. Currently, the engineering team is small but growing, providing opportunities for career growth and stability. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.27/hr.
